Culture Exchange
Meals included: Lunch
- Start the tour in Kuraburi at Andaman Discoveries’ office for a pre-trip briefing and cultural orientation. Afterward transfer, together with you bilingual Thai English translator, to Tung La Ong Pier to meet your local hosts and then take a boat to the remote island of Koh Phra Thong.
- Along the way explore the mangrove forest in a long-tail boat. Try to spot playful otters and shy monkeys. Take a fascinating journey through the tidal canals and learn about this amazing eco-system which also acts as a nursery for crabs, fish and shrimp.
- After arriving in the village, join an interactive workshop with your guide and local host family. Here you will learn to weave palm leaves into animal shapes. Keep your creation as a souvenir.
- Enjoy a homemade lunch and cultural exchange with your host family.
- Join the ladies of the village to learn how to make a traditional Moken desert from local ‘’ka nom jac’’ flour. Enjoy the delicious results of your labor.
- In the late afternoon, bid farewell to your hosts and return to the mainland, where you will transfer by car back to Kuraburi and back to Andaman
