Surin Island National Park is a paradise of fine white sandy beaches, thick jungle, crystal-clear waters. It also boasts some of the best coral reef in Thailand. It is the home of the Moken, a traditionally nomadic sea people. They have lived in harmony with nature along Thailand's Andaman coast for thousands of years. More recently, the Moken have faced challenges of modernization. They are now open to sharing their way of life with respectful visitors in order to protect their culture.
Koh Surin National Park is the ideal place to go for people wanting to experience nature in its most beautiful and pristine form. You can also experience a culture that can still practices some of its traditions in this modern world.
Itinerary
Meals included: Lunch
- Pickup from accommodation Kuraburi, Khao Lak or Phuket to Kuraburi pier get your snorkel gear, then transfer by speedboat to Koh Surin National Park. (around 1 hour)
- Explore under water snorkel at Mae Yai Bay.
- Enjoy a buffet lunch at the national park restaurant and then relaxing on the beach.
- After lunch snorkel and discover an abundance of coral reefs and some rare fish not found anywhere else. Spend the afternoon immersed in the underwater world.
- or Visit the Moken village. Take a walking tour of the community with your guide to learn about the history and lives of these villagers. (depending on the tides)
- Return to Kuraburi pier and transfer to your hotel in Kuraburi, Khaolak or Phuket, end of program.
This is a join with a group program booked through our partner tour operator. Andaman Discoveries staff do not accompany you on the trip.

Why we care
Andaman Discoveries has supported the Moken over the last 20 years. We have provided scholarships, medical assistance, and helped to rebuild the village after it burned down in 2014. We have also facilitated community trainings about health, sanitation, waste management, and sustainable tourism. We support the women's handicraft program and cultural education for the children. This 1-day, tour directly helps the Moken people. Firstly, by directly adding money to their local economy. Secondly, through money raised by the North Andaman Network foundation.
