This 2-day, 1-night, tour of the Moken people includes an exciting boat trip. You will visit some of the best snorkeling sites in Thailand.

Day 1 Natural Wonder of the Moken (L,D)
- 08.00 Transfer pickup from Kuraburi town
- 08.30 Meet your translator at the Kuraburi pier for a pre-trip briefing and then check in. Get your snorkeling gear. Enjoy dessert with coffee or tea.
- 09.00 Depart for Surin islands by speedboat (around 1.20 hours)
- 10.20 Arrive at the Surin islands and check into your tent at the National Park campsite.
- 11.00 Meet your local guide and take a long tail boat trip to the Moken village. A tour around the village is an insight into the intricate relationship between the Moken and their surrounding environment. Learn about the brightly colored "Spirit Poles" and Moken homes, built on wooden stilts directly on the beach.
- 11.30 Participate in a handicraft workshop and learn the traditional art of Moken weaving. Use forest Pandanus leaves to weave a natural bracelet. Keep it as a souvenir and show off to your friends at home.
- 12.30 Have a packed lunch at a Moken stilted house.
- 13.30 Forest hike - your Moken guide will highlight useful plants, including medicinal herbs, edible species, and those used in the construction of traditional houseboats.
- 14.20 Snorkeling - Enjoy a coral reef exploration with a Moken guide. Your guide will take you to a wonderland of colorful tropical fish. Witness the impressive Moken swimming techniques. End your day with your Moken guide and return to the campsite to relax and enjoy the sunset from the white sand beach.
- 18.30 Dinner at the National Park restaurant and spend the evening at your leisure.
Overnight: Koh Surin National Park, tents on the beach with bedding provided; electricity generated from 18:00 pm until 06:00 am in the morning.
Day 2 - Moken local life (B,L)
- 08.00 Breakfast at the National Park restaurant.
- 09.00 Reunite with your Moken guide for more snorkeling at a new site then try your hand at rowing a Moken "rowboat" and re-enacting their method of spear fishing at the village.
- 11.30 Return to the National Park restaurant to have a Thai style lunch. Pack your belongings and prepare for departure from the island. Depart Surin islands by speedboat to Kuraburi pier. Transfer back to Kuraburi town to end your program.
Note: Moken Music Activity - Listen to beautiful songs that tell stories and the history of the Moken people. Day of Moken music will be decided by local guide.

Why we care
Andaman Discoveries has supported the Moken over the last 20 years. We have provided scholarships, medical assistance, and helped to rebuild the village after it burned down in 2014. We have also facilitated community trainings about health, sanitation, waste management, and sustainable tourism. We support the women's handicraft program and cultural education for the children. This 3-day, 2-night tour directly helps the Moken people. Firstly, by directly adding money to their local economy. Secondly, through money raised by the North Andaman Network foundation.
