Successful season for Moken on Koh Surin
The national park on Koh Surin closed on the 15th of May and will be closed to visitors for a few months. With the low season starting we would like to look back on the past season on Koh Surin. It has been a very successful season in which many people visited the Moken on this beautiful island.
We received 20 bookings from responsible visitors who were interested to hear the stories of the Moken and witness their traditional way of life on the island. The total number of visitors who booked the Moken Experience this year was 85. Three groups included a tour to the Moken in their custom made itinerary. As our Moken programs on Surin are suitable for many ages, last season five families (nine children) booked this tour. Most other bookings were made by parties of two and a few of the bookings were either made by solo travelers or parties with more than six people.
We are happy to recognize our guests’ respectful and enthusiastic personalities when delving into new cultures and environments. This is what different guests thought of their experiences in the Moken village on Surin island:
“This experience was incredible! I loved the Moken! This island is the heaven on earth! Thank you!”
“The experience in the village was very interesting and the local people were very welcoming and friendly. The island itself is very beautiful and it is great that it is not too crowded with tourists”
We are looking forward to the start of the new season later this year. We hope to see you then!
